Soft-Sanders™

Can you wet sand with the blocks?

Yes, absolutely! The blocks really work great for wet sanding because they float and won’t end up in the bottom of the bucket with all the contaminating dirt.

Do the blocks come in longer lengths?

They are currently available only in 5” sets, but we definitely have plans to come out with some different lengths in the future.

The blocks are super lightweight, but are they tough enough to hold up?

The blocks are extremely durable as long as you don’t catch them on a nail head or tear them on something sharp. You will find that the performance-to- weight ratio of the blocks is excellent.

Can the blocks be used with lacquer thinner or acetone?

Yes. They are resistant to most solvents.

What do the different colors signify?

The colors are distinctive to each block so that the user can immediately associate a specific block with a previous application.

Style-Styx™

Why do you recommend Super-Flex® sandpaper for use with the Style-Styx™?

Super-Flex® paper is heavy J-weight adhesive, “cloth-backed” sandpaper that has been pre-flexed to make it pliable. Cloth-backed paper holds up much longer when sanding sharp inward corners and outside edges. Normal backed sandpaper will crack, tear and lose its abrasive grains. Super-Flex® sandpaper will still be working long after the others wear out.

What is the blue roller used for?

The roller is used while applying the sandpaper, forcing the paper down into grooves ensuring that the sandpaper hugs the Styx for accurate line definition.

What year vehicles do the Style-Styx™ cover?

Vehicles from 1978 through 2000 containing difficult style lines were selected.

Why are some vehicles missing from this guide?

Specific vehicles with hard-to-repair style lines were selected to create these diverse Styx. Vehicles with smooth surfaces to not require a Styx for repair. In those instances the Soft-Sanders™ would be ideal for use.

What do the different colors of the Style-Styx™ signify?

The Styx are coded to the familiar colors of the standard crash guides for ease of use. Example: Green = Ford, Purple = European.
